Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note III this September at the annual IFA in Germany. JK Shin, Samsung’s co-CEO, confirmed the existence of this phablet a couple weeks ago and said that we could expect it to sport a 5.9-inch OLED display. Other notable rumoured specs of the larger smartphone/tablet may see it powered by a quad-core processor and running Android OS 4.3.
Fresh overseas reports this morning have a few more details of the Galaxy Note III. According toETNews the Note III will have a 13MP camera, 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. The report claimed that Samsung is “pondering various technologies at this stage – for example, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and shutter functions. But, nothing has yet to be confirmed, so we cannot conclusively say that those functions will be added to the Galaxy Note 3.”
If true, this will be Samsung’s first device to feature OIS and will bring their camera features up to par with competing manufacturers Nokia and HTC, which have OIS in the their latest flagship Lumia 920 and the HTC One.
